The official sweater for the Norwegian 2008 World Champion athletes, the Ski Team sweater is produced in the softest Merino quality and is named after the famous Holmenkollen arena in Oslo. Holmenkollen is a hilly area in the outskirts of Norway's capital Oslo, and one of the most visited tourist attractions in Norway. The area has been a ski recreation area since the late 19th century, with its famous, ski jump arena hosting competitions since 1892. It has served as host to nine different Nordic skiing and biathlon world championships, including the 1952 Winter Olympics. Dale of Norway has designed this sweater as a tribute to the arena's historic ski jump that was replaced in Spring, 2007.
In short: Oslo's historic ski jump may no longer be with us, but the Kollen sweater remains as its tribute.
